“I Cry Out to Thee, O Lord” is a wonderful addition to the recital repertoire canon. It is rhythmically interesting, harmonically and melodically beautiful--even haunting in places. It is approachable by singers who are still perfecting their craft, while at the same time offering plenty of challenges to the seasoned performer. The interplay of piano, oboe, and voice offers a rich tapestry to the listener. I have enjoyed singing it in recital several times and will definitely sing it often in the future.Dr. Hope KoehlerProfessor of VoiceSchool of Music West Virginia University
